Roadtrip project strikes again :-)
Thursday, 16 August, 2018
The Roadtrip project visited one more Central Baltic project! This time the project in question is Vomare, an Estonian and Finnish initiative through which volunteers developed a joint maritime rescue system to improve search and rescue services. It is very nice to see that, even though this project ended, the activities developped during its implementation are still ongoing.
Here the video in which the two Commission Roadtrippers, Luna and Achilleas, discover the project.

Sometimes the project topic hits the chord with the times and the potential results are just so special that it feels like that media attention happens by itself. Earlier this year the FinEst Link project had mayors and ministers attending and full Finnish and Estonian media attention for the whole morning.

Project INSURE is testing alternative methods for brownfields remediation
Thursday, 15 March, 2018
A brownfilead is an un-used industrial land with contaminated soil. Until such a land has been remediatied, it cannot be used.
At the moment, the traditional method used for remediation, consists of excavating the contaminated soil and transport it into another location. However this practice is not sustainable: the browfield area can be used after beeing remediated, but the soil is still contaminated. Central Baltic project INSURE aims at finding new sustainable methods to deal with this issue.
