Project INSURE is testing alternative methods for brownfields remediation

Thursday, March 15, 2018 - 16:19
A brownfilead is an un-used industrial land with contaminated soil. Until such a land has been remediatied, it cannot be used.

At the moment, the traditional method used for remediation, consists of excavating the contaminated soil and transport it into another location. However this practice is not sustainable: the browfield area can be used after beeing remediated, but the soil is still contaminated. Central Baltic project INSURE aims at finding new sustainable methods to deal with this issue.

To learn more about the project and its activities, Central Baltic Contact Point Sweden South Annika Hölmstrom interviewed Project Manager Magnus Kviele. Read the full story on our project database!
