Celebrate the EC Day with us in September

Each year we gather to celebrate the things we do and achieve together. We do this in the form of the European Cooperation Day. Last year the Central Baltic Programme, together with people from all over our programme region, joined forces to clean our beaches. This year we visited schools in each of our countries, gave talks about cross-border cooperation and asked what pupils thought about it. We recorded their answers and are preparing a short video that will be published in September. Additionally, pupils also drew their thoughts. ... Read more

The Swedish Contact Points together with the Swedish Institute organise a conference on 16 June to discuss how more Swedish organisations can participate in Central Baltic-projects.  The conference will be held in Swedish and is aimed at Swedish organisations interested to learn more about the Central Baltic-programme and its intern linkages with the EU Baltic Sea Strategy and Swedish national programmes.

The Central Baltic Annual event 2016 in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm, gathered over 150 participants this year from all over the programme area. The plenary session included interesting speaks form Esa Halme, the Region Mayor of Pirkanmaa, Finland and Karina Uddén from Länstyrelssen in Stockholm. During the parallel sessions, 10 projects were showcased and discussed, along with the do's and dont's for potential projects in the Central Baltic Programme. As for the Project Fair, 18 Central Baltic projects presented themselves from all priorities.

Cleanliness of the Baltic Sea is an excellent example of an issue that needs cooperation across the borders. Cleaning the seashores together was therefore seen as a fun and useful way to celebrate the European Cooperation Day 2015 in the Central Baltic region.

The Launch Events of the new Central Baltic Programme gathered together over 600 participants from all over the programme area. The series of five events in Helsinki, Mariehamn, Stockholm, Riga and Tallinn provided information about the themes and setup of the programme, the many satisfying simplifications in the programme and project administration as well as detailed guidance on how to take project ideas further. ...
