The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 finances result orientated cross-border cooperation projects in Estonia, Finland (incl Åland), Latvia and Sweden

First impressions from public hearings

Tuesday, April 13, 2021 - 15:13
The public hearing process on the Central Baltic programme for 2021-2027 has been closed. During the last two months we’ve invited stakeholders to read and comment the draft content. We received 49 replies to our online survey. Some replies covered several regions or respondents, so the number of involved people has been much larger. We got replies from all programme countries.

Currently our programming team is going through the replies. Each comment will be considered and replied to. We’re producing a document where all the comments and replies will be visible.

The first impression is that respondents largely feel that the chosen priorities do properly address the challenges and opportunities of the Central Baltic region. Most of the replies agreed or were neutral to this statement. This is a good basis for the Joint Programming Committee to finalise its work on the programme content. In addition some respondents provided input on content that is not yet fully clear or lacking. These comments will be carefully reviewed in the Joint Programming Committee meeting in late May.

The feedback now received is in line with what has been heard in Thematic seminars in the autumn or in the public hearing webinars. We’re very grateful for each question and comment as they show that people are interested in and committed to making the programme as good as possible.

We will keep you up to date of the next steps. Meanwhile we encourage you to generate the project ideas on programme intervention themes presented so far and to start identifying the potential project partners:
The first call will happen sooner than we think. Stay tuned! If you'd like to be kept up to date with our latest news,
