The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 finances result orientated cross-border cooperation projects in Estonia, Finland (incl Åland), Latvia and Sweden

The first 35 regular projects approved for funding

The programme Steering Committee has taken decisions on the regular project applications submitted in the first call. The approved projects (including the previously approved small projects) will be allocated in total 47.6 million euros (41 %) out of the 115 million ERDF available in the programme. The average total budget of the approved regular projects was 1.7 million euros, ranging from 0.5 to 3.9 million euros. The average ERDF budget of the now approved projects was 1.3 million euros.

Out of the submitted 42 second-step applications, the following 35 were approved for funding and will be contacted by the Joint Secretariat in the coming days about the following steps:

The rejected projects will receive the reasons for rejection once the minutes of the Steering Committee meeting have been approved. This will take approximately three weeks.

The approved projects cover all priorities and most specific objectives. Funding still remains in all of them (see diagram). More statistics on the first call projects will be published shortly.

The first call first step was open from 18 December, 2014 to 9 February, 2015, resulting in altogether 177 first-step applications. After the first step, 7 small projects were approved for funding and 45 regular projects were approved to continue to the second-step applicaton phase. Out of these, 42 submitted a second-step application.

Finally, the first call resulted in 7 small and 35 regular projects to be the first ones to be implemented in the new Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020.
