The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 finances result orientated cross-border cooperation projects in Estonia, Finland (incl Åland), Latvia and Sweden

Trainee position in system support open!

Regional Council of Southwest Finland is looking for a trainee (system support) for a period of 4-6 months for Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020. The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 is a funding programme financing cross-border cooperation projects in the central Baltic Sea region. The participating countries are Finland (incl. Åland), Estonia, Latvia and Sweden.

Altogether 115 million euros from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is made available through the programme. The funding is available for cross-border cooperation projects where partners from at least two countries are cooperating under one of the four programme priorities.

The trainee will be doing first level IT system support and administration tasks. This includes advising end users of e-Monitoring System (eMS) used by the programme for project and programme monitoring. The system consists of modules for the full lifecycle of projects funded by the programme. This includes for example project application, evaluation, contracting, reporting, monitoring and control work as well as programme level monitoring. The end users include users working for the Managing Authority and Joint Secretariat of the programme (Project Managers and Coordinators, Financial Officers, etc.) as well as external users (Project partners, First level controllers, etc.). The exact extent of the support and administration tasks will be adjusted based on the selected person's capabilities.

The requirements are: 
  • ability to understand use of complex IT systems
  • basic understanding of project funding and management
  • basic understanding of financial management
  • good skills in English language and one of the following languages: Finnish, Swedish, Estonian, Latvian

We see as advantage:
  • knowledge of EU funding, especially ERDF
  • experience of end user support
  • basic understanding of relational databases, Java, Linux
