The Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 finances result orientated cross-border cooperation projects in Estonia, Finland (incl Åland), Latvia and Sweden

The implementation of the Central Baltic programme 2021-2027 has started

Thursday, September 2, 2021 - 11:31
We can now say that the implementation of the Central Baltic programme has started for the period 2021-2027.

What does this mean – because you may remember that the programme document draft is currently in national approval processes in each of the governments of our countries. Well, it means that we have employed people for the period 2021-2027, they have had two weeks of training and introduction and they are now starting to work at full speed.

Their tasks include supporting the Member States in finalising the decisions and sending the programme document to the European Commission, but maybe more importantly preparing the programme’s first call for applications (foreseen in early 2022). The team is working on guidance documents, the Jems electronic monitoring system, our launch event and much more.

The team is also ready to start discussions with you to see if your project idea could match the objectives of the Central Baltic programme 2021-2027. We have built the team so that we have thematic expertise for all our programme objectives.

We are keen to launch the programme and reach the programme objectives with your help. The programme has been set up as a result-oriented, focused and simple programme, but all of these principles will come to life in discussion with our future applicants and later projects. We want to encourage everyone to get in touch with our team.

In addition, we welcome our new national Contact Point in Åland who will work as an ambassador for the Central Baltic Programme. His network and contacts across borders are a valuable asset to develop and strengthen the contact between Åland and other actors in the Baltic Sea region. Welcome, Dan Sundqvist!
