The Central Baltic programme’s Annual Event 2018 will be held on 14-15 November in Turku, Finland.
The focus of the event are project synergies which will be looked at from different perspectives. The first day will focus on finding synergies with and among Central Baltic projects. At the project village, participants will have the possibility to learn more about Central Baltic projects as well as to network with them. The day will end with a networking dinner.
The second day focuses on project synergies from the point of view of different parties involved in cross-border cooperation. The day will open with a keynote speech delivered by the Chairman of the Board of the Regional Government of Uusimaa, Markku Markkula, the former president of the European Committee of Regions, who will address the topic of project synergies and cross-border cooperation at the higher level. This speech will be followed by the Central Baltic Programme Head of the Managing Authority Merike Niitepõld’s reflection on the status of the programme and on the value of cross-border cooperation from the programme point of view. After that, Linda Talve, Communication Manager at the Interact programme, will present Keep.eu, a portal in which are listed cross-border projects from all over Europe. The session will continue with Central Baltic Project Manager Samu Numminen and a representative of Central Baltic programme project Plan4Blue, who will introduce another tool aimed at enabling project synergies: project platforms. The morning will end with an update on the Programme priorities delivered by Samu Numminen.
The afternoon sessions will bring in examples of how project synergies can be found across priorities in the field of tourism. Representatives from project BOOSTED, Priority 4, PortMate, Priority 3, DefenceArch, Priority 2 and CAITO, Priority 1 will share their experiences.
