Cross-border cooperation continues
The Central Baltic Programme is an EU cross-border cooperation programme. Its scope is to finance high quality projects with European Regional Development Funds in Estonia, Finland (including Åland), Latvia and Sweden, that aim at solving common challenges together and across borders. The programme has been bringing these countries together since 2007 and will continue to do so in the future.

Now is the time for you to participate in the planning
Led by a Joint Programming Committee, the planning for the upcoming programme for 2021 - 2027 and its focus areas is ongoing at full speed, and the thematic structure is starting to take shape. This autumn the programme is organising thematic seminars in each programme member state and Åland. By participating you and your organisation have the possibility to contribute to the programme content and to discuss potential project ideas together with other interested organisations in your country. During the seminar we will split into thematic workshops, where the closer focus and potential strategic cooperation projects will be discussed under three chosen policy objectives. These are “A smarter Europe”, “A greener, low carbon and resilient Europe” and “A more social Europe” with the following themes chosen by the Joint programming Committee:
  1. Innovative growth and competitiveness of Central Baltic SME-s, New and improved Central Baltic digital services;
  2. Improved quality of Central Baltic environment by enhancing nature protection, biodiversity, green infrastructure and reducing pollution; Integrated Central Baltic circular economy solutions in various sectors and fields of resource use; Improved Central Baltic Intermodal mobility, connections to TEN-T and more efficient transport corridors to decrease CO2 emissions;
  3. Central Baltic Integrated, accessible labor markets and skills development
You are also encouraged to already now describe your own project idea by filling in the Project Idea template at http://centralbaltic.eu/content/project-idea-form-template in written and sending it to info@centralbaltic.eu. This will help us to further define the specific needs in the regions.
