The overall process of developing the programme logic was to move towards more specific choices with common cross-border ground. To get a good picture of these needs and challenges, input from stakeholders has been collected in many ways, ranging from surveys to thematic workshops and public hearings.
The process is led by the Joint Programming Committee (JPC), which is composed of representatives from the regions and member states of our programme. While the Joint Secretariat is in charge of drafting the programme, the JPC takes formal decision on the content. We have held public hearing process to make the programme suit the needs of our region, after which the new programme draft was finalised and submitted to the Joint Programming Committee for approval in the beginning of July.
Where are we now? We can now say that the implementation of the Central Baltic programme has started for the period 2021-2027. What does this mean? It means the programme document draft is currently in national approval processes in each of the governments of our countries. We have employed people for the period 2021-2027, and they are now starting to work at full speed.

After the new regulations are approved by the European Commission, the Programme document will enter national approval processes. Once the processes on the national level are completed and the participating countries officially approve the Programme document, we will submit the programme to the European Commission for review and approval.
