Sustainable and Healthy ways to School - SHWS (working title)

Programme priority:
Sustainable use of common resources
Specific Objective for priority 2:
Specific objective 2.3 (Better urban planning in the Central Baltic region)
Description of the project idea:
The SHWS-project aims to change youths and children’s travel habits to school and leisure activities by promoting sustainable travel modes in urban areas. Hence, the project could both improve the youths/children’s health and at the same time reduce the carbon dioxide emissions. The project would focus on methods that could change behaviour through three strands: 1. Information campaigns/promotions 2. New mobility solutions 3. New infrastructure. The methods would be developed in collaboration between municipalities, schools, parents and children/youth.
