In this mini-series, we introduce our national Contact Points from around the programme area. The national Contact Points are the link between the programme and the regions. They inform about the funding opportunities and provide first information to potential applicants. Contact Points also help with partner search and matchmaking. In addition, they follow projects closely to share/spread project results and communicate the benefits of cross-border cooperation.

How did you end up working with Central Baltic?(2019)
Just like many other best things in life tend to happen – I was in the right place at the right time. Just as I had decided to make changes in my life, the “Central Baltic door” opened. I felt like I was made for this position, therefore I was extremely determined to get it. And now, here I am!
What does a typical working day look like?
I probably started working during one of the most chaotic times of the year – just before Christmas. By now, I have been working as an Information Officer for barely more than a month, so far I have very much enjoyed the freedom in my doings. That means I can plan my day (almost) exactly as I want to, so I can consider my “creative times” (which usually tend to be the mornings) and times I feel like doing something slightly more technical. I am rather sure that my working days will be immensely different as months go by.
What are you currently working with?
So far, I have been trying to grasp all of my tasks and responsibilities. I am constantly working on getting to know the projects better and better. Currently, I am working with mapping all the channels that are used in order to ensure projects’ visibility. As many of the projects have come to an end during 2018, I am also planning on conducting some interviews to see what the projects have been up to, and then writing stories about them.
What is the best thing about your work?
I have always felt a close connection to the sea. I have noticed that people are oftentimes divided into two groups: they are either huge “fans” of (and/or just prefer) the forest, or the sea. I am definitely the “sea-person”. I think that having the Baltic Sea as my field of action truly is the best thing about my work.
